My_Blog: Ruby on Rails Development - Status Page
Latest News 07 Jun 2007: Initial basic functionality development is complete.
My_Blog is my development of the software which will eventually be used to host my blog on this site and which is being developed using the Ruby on Rails platform. The application will start out with the basic functionalities with more being added as the project progresses.
I am new to RoR development and therefore gladly appreciate any assistance those more proficient in the topic may wish to offer. You may contact me via the Contact Form
Timeline
- Feb/Mar 2007: Initial Idea proposed
- 26/05/2007 13:00: Initial download and configuration of InstantRails
- 26/05/2007 14:30: Fire up the development environment and create the basic project architecture with 'rails my_blog'
- 26/05/2007 22:00: Create the three MySQL databases (developmentk, test, production) using PHPMyAdmin
- 26/05/2007 22:15: Create the posts model using 'ruby script/generate model post' and initialize corresponding table in migrate file
- 07/06/2007 19:30: Attempting to fix migration errors due to unwanted hidden characters
- 07/06/2007 22:00: Finally migrations are working - Had to use Emacs to fix it
- 07/06/2007 22:15: Completed scaffolding for posts along with minor editing
- 07/06/2007 22:30: Created controller for comments
- 07/06/2007 22:45: Edited posts scaffold to permit posting comments
- 07/06/2007 23:00: Initial basic development complete
