About Me

Hello! This page was published to tell you a little bit about myself, who I am, what I do and why I do it, as well as to link to a few other sites on the internet where I'm referenced. I'll try to keep it up to date as time progresses.

My name is Hussein Patwa. In July 2008, I graduated with an Honours BSc in Internet Information Systems from the University of Aberdeen's Computing Science Department . I have now moved on to undertaking an MSc Masters in Management, Innovation & Change, also at Aberdeen, which I should finish by September 2009. As well as doing this, I also have my own company, PatwaNet which will eventually be focussed around this site. See the home page for more information on that.

I'm very much into web design, and am also extremely interested in anything relating to business and finance surrounding stock market trading. Recently I've also become excited about networking and telecommunications systems, and to that end am currently working towards setting up my own in-house telephone system using a centralized VoIP (Voice over IP) server and compatible SIP handsets as a hobby in my free time. I hope to take this as far as I can, budget and time permitting. Finally, I love to keep on top of the latest technologies. I recently finished building my new super-computer, named Nicole (yes, she's my baby), which was the focus of that passion.

I'm partially sighted but registered blind, which is making navigating out and about increasingly difficult. However I try not to let this get in the way of my ambitions and am always looking for ways to make life easier to allow me to do what I want to do. Of course, a lot of this wouldn't be possible without the time, dedication and persistance of the many people who've helped me over the years and who continue to help me, and I'd just like to take this moment to thank them most sincerely for everything that they've done. May you some day reap the dividend of your efforts.

I wouldn't call myself a philosopher, but I do find myself thinking a lot about different topics, myself, work, the world around me and life in general. These thoughts are often the basis of my articles, blog entries and lyrics. However, I also love to meet new people, be it online or in person, and it's always fun to have a friendly banter or heated debate about one thing or another - goodness knows more people need to think about what's going on around them nowadays. I'm friendly, open-minded and eager to help people where I can - the rewards are often quite soul-satisfying.
